- Assisting in technical writing of procedures and forms to develop and maintain the EHS & Rail Safety management plans for the Project
- Ensuring that the Drug and Alcohol program, Fatigue Management program, is implemented and that effective record management supports these programs
- Establishing a comprehensive project safety governance process to undertake regular formal reviews of the EHS & Rail Safety Management Plans and KPIs
- Proactively involved in deploying Safety programs in order to achieve objectives and drive continuous improvement across the function
- Undertaking independent project systems audits, following up actions to closure and reporting on outcomes and knowledge management improvements
- Keeping abreast and informing Project Senior Management of legislation changes or changes in requirements which effect the Project activities
- Reviewing and test the various emergency plans and delivery of Safety induction training
- Prioritising accidents/incidents are first prevented, and if occurring writing thorough reports, recording the incident, ensuring this has been investigated and analysed
- Ensuring Safety audits and inspections are completed as per the relevant schedule
- Ensuring consultation & communication activities are being undertaken on the project through Health & Safety Representatives and OHS Committees
- Preparing EHS & Rail Safety monthly statistical reports and client reports
- Implementing Environment requirements, including compliance inspections, monitoring, reporting and recording
- Conducting EHS Evaluations of subcontractors and monitor their safety performance
- Participating in Rail, health and wellbeing programs and events such as RUOK day
- Certificate IV or Diploma in health and safety
- Rail infrastructure, Rollingstock manufacturing/ maintenance or heavy industrial manufacturing experience in a similar role is desirable
- Proven experience in the development, implementation and monitoring of risk management tools
- Sound understanding and knowledge of local legal and WA regulatory health and safety requirements
- Initiative, drive and resilience, with the ability to influence people at all levels within the operations
- Knowledge of safe working systems, network rules and procedures (Public Transport Authority) would be an advantage
