- Design and implement an innovative early childhood education program aligned with the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF), Queensland Learning Kindergarten Guideline (QLKG), and National Quality Standards (NQS).
- Ensure program compliance with relevant legislation, including the Education and Care Services National Law and Regulations, Workplace Health and Safety Regulations, Fire and Evacuation Legislation, Family Assistance Law and delivery of Child Care Subsidy.
- Deliver a kindergarten program that includes diverse experiences such as physical activity, music, and community engagement.
- Support early literacy and numeracy development through play-based and intentional teaching strategies.
- Regularly evaluate the effectiveness of the educational program and teaching strategies.
- Establish and maintain meaningful communication with children and families to foster a sense of belonging and provide a supportive learning environment.
- Collaborate with local businesses and organizations to enhance children’s connection to the community.
- Ensure children’s safety and well-being through active supervision and adherence to health and safety regulations.
- Maintain a clean and hygienic environment and promote healthy practices among children.
- Conduct regular observations and assessments to document children’s learning and progress.
- Provide early intervention or support for children with additional needs.
- Collaborate with families to prepare transition statements and support individual learning plans.
- Commit to ongoing professional development and reflective practices.
- Work collaboratively with other educators, mentoring trainees and volunteers.
- Promote environmental awareness and sustainable practices within the educational setting.
- Engage children in activities that encourage caring for the environment.
- Participate in administrative tasks related to program planning, compliance documentation, and reporting.
- Ensure all relevant forms and records are completed accurately, promptly and in compliance with all regulatory standards.
- Recognize and respond to each child's individual needs, interests, and cultural backgrounds.
- Support children's agency by encouraging independent decision-making.
- Build self-esteem and support positive behaviour among children.
- Foster respectful and reciprocal relationships with all children, ensuring their dignity and rights are upheld.
- Maintain comprehensive and confidential records for each child, including developmental milestones, health information, and cultural considerations, ensuring compliance with confidentiality requirements.
- Always uphold a high standard of personal appearance and professionalism, including when discussing the centre outside of work.
- Bachelor's degree or higher-level qualification
- Candidates who have completed or are nearing completion of the Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care are preferred
- Minimum of at least one (1) year of work experience in relevant field
- Current First Aid Certificate (approved by ACECQA)
- Current CPR Certificate (approved by ACECQA)
- Current Anaphylaxis Training (approved by ACECQA)
- Current Emergency Asthma Management Training (approved by ACECQA)
- Current Working with Children Check or teacher registration (exemption) as required
- Commitment to maintaining current knowledge and attend additional training as necessary
