We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Principal Infrastructure Services Officer to lead the development of policies, strategies, and methodologies that support effective asset management and maintenance practices across schools, staff housing, and early childhood education centres.This role is pivotal in ensuring long-term planning and continuous improvement of maintenance programs, with a focus on evidence-based decision-making, stakeholder engagement, and strategic leadership.
Key Responsibilities
  • Policy & Strategy Development – Design, review, and implement maintenance management policies and strategies, driving continuous improvement through evaluation and data analysis.
  • Funding & Resource Allocation – Develop methodologies to allocate maintenance funding effectively, including business rules and performance indicators to manage service partners such as QBuild.
  • Leadership & Team Management – Lead a small, high-performing team to develop forward pipelines of maintenance work and support long-term planning.
  • Data Analysis & Reporting – Analyse asset lifecycle data to inform investment strategies and produce high-quality reports for senior management and external stakeholders.
  • Strategic Advice & Correspondence – Provide expert advice on maintenance policies, prepare ministerial briefings, and draft reports and correspondence to support government priorities.
About You You will bring expertise in asset management, infrastructure planning, or a related field, with proven experience in policy development, program evaluation, and data-driven decision-making. Your strong leadership, communication, and analytical skills will allow you to successfully influence outcomes and manage key stakeholder relationships.
Key Skills and Attributes
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to develop evidence-based strategies.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills, including the ability to prepare high-level reports and correspondence.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of contemporary asset management strategies and lifecycle planning.
  • Proven experience in planning, coordinating, and reporting on maintenance programs.
  • Leadership experience, including team management and stakeholder engagement.
This is a contract until 30th Jul 2027.
