- Lead delivery of the Community Safety Plan, raising awareness and driving initiatives that respond to current and emerging safety issues.
- Use your research and analytical skills to shape programmes, events and forums, while measuring and reporting on their impact.
- Strengthen partnerships with local stakeholders by providing advice, insights and recommendations to enhance community safety.
- Contribute to broader Council initiatives such as health and wellbeing strategies, gender and family violence action plans, and inclusion projects, while representing Council in external forums and working groups.
- Influence future planning and investment by providing evidence-based recommendations, supporting advocacy efforts, and contributing to capital works and policy direction.
- Take a lead role in shaping initiatives that directly enhance community safety, with opportunities to influence policy, planning and cross-sector collaboration.
- You'll bring proven experience in community safety, social policy or programme delivery, with relevant tertiary qualifications in social sciences, public policy, or a related field. You have a strong understanding of local government frameworks and the ability to translate policy into practical outcomes.
- You'll have excellent research, analysis, evaluation and report-writing skills, with the ability to turn complex data into clear, actionable insights. You're comfortable presenting findings to diverse audiences and influencing decision-making.
- You'll be a natural communicator and relationship builder, capable of fostering strong partnerships with internal teams, local stakeholders, and community groups. You're confident providing advice, facilitating collaboration, and navigating complex stakeholder environments.
- You'll demonstrate a commitment to social justice and equity, with experience delivering inclusive community programmes. You have a sound understanding of Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design (CPTED) principles and how they can be applied to create safer public spaces.
- You're proactive, innovative and solution-focused, able to take initiative and manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining high standards of quality and impact.
