Occupation: Sewing Machine Mechanic (Full time)

Hours Per week: 38

Salary: $77,000 to $80,000 plus superannuation

Duties

• Perform sewing machine setup (new & used), trouble shooting, repairs and preventative maintenance.
• Make unscheduled repairs on production equipment during production and perform scheduled maintenance repairs of equipment during machine servicing.
• Performs mechanic skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical/electronical, pneumatic, and hydraulic troubleshooting and repair of production and finishing machines.
• Diagnose problems, replace, or repair parts, test and adjust machinery.
• Quality Control Analysis - Conducting tests and inspections of products, services, or processes to evaluate quality or performance.
• Use a variety of hand and power tools, metal work tools, electric meters and material handling equipment.
• Assist in training junior/trainee sewing machine mechanics all facets of repairs & servicing. This will also include sewing machine operators in proper setup and operation of machines.
• Comply with safety rules and maintain a clean and orderly work area.

Skills Required

• Minimum of 8 years of relevant experience
• Advanced mechanical and technical skills
• Highly developed problem-solving and decision-making abilities
• Strong verbal and interpersonal communication skills
• Quick learner with strong adaptability
• Sound knowledge of preventive maintenance procedures
• High attention to detail and precision
