Occupation: Accountant (Full time)

Hours Per week: 38

Salary: $85,000 plus superannuation

Key Responsibilities:

• Assisting in preparation of accurate and comprehensive financial statements that are presented to boards of directors, management, and governing and statutory bodies if required.
• Maintaining internal control procedures to safeguard financial data and ensure accurate financial reporting using MYOB/XERO/ QUICKBOOK/Q6 and other accounting base software.

• Preparing taxation returns for the organisation and BAS lodgements.

• Assist and contribute to the preparation of budgetary and accounting policies which help in financial forecasting exercises to aid the company in its future planning.
• Providing assurance about the accuracy of the information in the financial reports by compliance to accounting principles, company policies, and statutory requirements.
• Monitoring the income and expenditure related to the company and examination of operational cost.
• Providing financial and tax advice to the company on the suitability of the business structure.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• A bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting & Finance
• More than 3 years of experience as an Accountant.
• Progress towards CPA qualification is preferred.
• Highly developed problem solving and decision-making skills.
• Detailed knowledge of the vendors/distributors/manufacturers/subcontractors and the projects.
• Experience with Client contracts.
• Knowledge of Australian Tax Laws and AASB Accounting Standards.
• Excellent Excel skills.
• Experience with large ERP systems is highly regarded.
