Reporting to the General Manager (Bruce Rock), the Production manager's main duties involve planning, organising, directing, controlling and coordinating of the production activities associated with the trailer manufacturing at the Bruce Rock location.

The key responsibilities for these roles include:
- Being the vital link between the General Manager and the Fabrication, Paint, Assembly, and Warehousing Forepersons.
- Managing production workflow, ensuring all products are manufactured on schedule to BRE’s high quality standards.
- Monitoring the performance of approximately 100 staff to ensure both team and individual KPI’s are met
- Assessing production requirements and presenting solutions or exceptions to all relevant stakeholders

- Providing technical advice to the production line
- Analysing and interpreting data
- Compiling written reports and documentation
- Interviewing candidates shortlisted for operational roles
- Promoting a safe, clean and hazard free work environment and ensuring team members are complying with the safety standards set out from BRE
- Identifying, managing, and communicating safety issues
- Conducting staff performance and safety incident investigations
- Overseeing maintenance for all equipment and machinery. Ensuring all is completed as per BRE’s maintenance schedule
- Continually strengthening the frontline leadership teams through coaching and mentoring strategies
- Strategically managing staffing rosters and leave approvals to always ensure adequate leadership coverage.
- Follow systems and procedures and ensure checklists and paperwork completed in timely manner.
- Support and endorse the BRE Group Purpose, Vision, Mission and Values.
Required skills and experience:
- Trade Qualification in Fabrication or related field
- Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or Business Management
- Proven experience (5+ years) in operations management in the manufacturing industry
- Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop multiple departments
- Proficiency in ERP systems (Epicor preferred)
- Intermediate computer literacy including Microsoft Office suite
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities in a dynamic and fast-paced environment
- Positive outlook, visionary, confident with the ability to manage conflict.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
