Job Title: Full time Analyst Programmer
Salary: $140,000 plus superannuation
Tasks:
- Analyse user requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
- Analyse user requirements, design, develop, test and implement scalable software and data applications on-premises and in the cloud. Familiar with using Python, Java, SQL, Spark, Hadoop, Hive, Kafka, and related frameworks
- Write and maintain clean, efficient, and well-documented code.
- Develop and maintain APIs and integrations with third-party applications and services.
- Build, optimise, and maintain database structures using SQL Server, PostgreSQL, or MySQL.
- Collaborate with Business Analysts and stakeholders to ensure solutions meet functional and performance requirements.
- Conduct unit testing and participate in system/integration testing.
- Support ongoing maintenance, debugging, and enhancement of existing systems.
- Prepare technical documentation, including system designs, data flows, and user manuals.
- Monitor application performance and suggest improvements for scalability and performance.
- Develop automated testing scripts and conduct system regression testing to ensure code quality.
- Design and integrate analytics and reporting solutions using Power BI, Tableau, and custom visualisation tools to support business decision-making.
Skills and Experience Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field.
- More than two years of experience in data engineering or a similar role.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, SQL
- Exposure with ETL tools like Snowflake, Databricks and Informatica is an advantage
- Basic understanding of big data technologies such as Spark
- Hands-on experience with cloud platforms such as AWS/Azure.
- Solid understanding of database systems and SQL.
- Experience with data warehousing solutions such as Snowflake and Redshift
- Exposure to reporting tools like Power BI, Tableau and Looker
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Work in other office location if required
- Knowledge of data governance and data quality best practices experience with large amounts of Customer data in Financial Services or related field is an advantage
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a cross functional team environment
- Experience of maintaining technical documentation for various stakeholders from internal users to end users.
