Diesel Motor Mechanics

Flexihire is currently seeking for skilled Diesel Motor Mechanics to join their team. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining, repairing, and overhauling a wide range of diesel-powered equipment in the hire fleet, including excavators, generators, trailers, and other mobile plant machinery. The role also includes diagnostics, field service, and supporting workshop operations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Diagnose and repair diesel engines, hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems
• Conduct routine maintenance and inspections on hire equipment
• Perform field breakdown repairs and after-hours service when required
• Prepare machinery for hire, ensuring all safety and operational standards are met
• Rebuild or replace engine components and troubleshoot transmission and electrical faults
• Maintain service records and ensure a safe, clean workshop environment
• Support apprentices and work collaboratively with the team

Skills and Experience:

• Trade qualification in diesel mechanics or a related field
• Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience with diesel engines
• Strong troubleshooting skills in hydraulics, electrical, and mechanical systems
• Ability to work independently and within a team
• Good communication and customer service skills
• Current driver’s licence (HR preferred)
