• Vee Two is an Australian owned company with 40+ years’ experience of bevel twin Ducati motorcycles.

The Role:

Vee Two is currently seeking to employ a Fitter-welder to work in our workshop based in Nannup WA.

General Fitting and welding duties in the production of motorcycle frames, parts and accessories.

As part of this role, you will be expected fit and assemble fabricated metal parts into products, set up machining tools, production machines, and operate machining tools and machines to shape metal and castings in our workshop and very occasionally on client sites.

The applicant must be able to weld using the following processes, TIG, MIG and MMA on a variety of materials including Aluminium, Stainless and various steel grades.

Welding will be carried out on a variety of products including motorcycle frames, engine casings, parts and accessories using existing jigs and fixtures.

General fitting will include bench assembly, material selection and cutting to size, machine operation, pipe bending, pipe fitting, grinding, brazing and soldering. Some jig and fixture manufacture may also be necessary to facilitate new part development.

The applicant must be able to work unsupervised and read/interpret engineering drawings.

The applicant must be able to use engineering measuring/inspection equipment such as verniers, micrometers, height gauges, slip gauges etc. and be able to produce inspection reports detailing the findings.

Other duties may be needed as necessary including engine build and test etc.

Indicative Skill Level:
AQF Certificate III including at least two years of on-the-job training, or AQF Certificate IV (ANZSCO Skill Level 3)

At least three years of relevant experience may substitute for the formal qualifications listed above.

Tasks Include:

• Interpret mechanical drawings and specifications to distinguish suitable materials, method and machine settings to complete works effectively
• fitting fabricated metal parts into products and assembling metal parts and subassemblies to produce machines and equipment
• checking fabricated and assembled metal parts for accuracy, clearance and fit using precision measuring instruments, Inspect, analyse and recording of critical information.
• setting guides, stops and other controls on machining tools, setting up prescribed cutting and shaping tools and dies in machines and presses.
• Using an array of processes (pressing, cutting, grinding, bore and drill) form metal material and casts to fine tolerances.
• cutting, threading, bending and installing hydraulic and pneumatic pipes and lines
• diagnosing faults and performing operational maintenance of machines, and overhauling and repairing mechanical parts and fluid power equipment and a variety of different machinery
• may erect machines and equipment on-site
• Fits, assembles and welds metal parts and subassemblies to fabricate production machines and other equipment either in the workshop or on site.

Essential requirements

In addition to the above criteria, you must live in and have the right to work in Australia and ideally be located within 70km of Nannup or be willing to relocate.
