Vehicle Painter

Our client, Allquip Water Trucks (Allquip Pty Ltd), is a family-owned and Australian-operated company located in Rutherford, NSW. With over two decades of industry experience, the company specialises in the manufacture of water trucks, tankers, and slide-in units. They currently seeking for a Vehicle Painter to join their growing workshop team. The role involves surface preparation, colour matching, and the application of high-quality paint finishes to truck cabins, tankers, and water truck bodies.

Key Responsibilities

1. Prepare truck surfaces by cleaning, sanding, masking, and priming to ensure proper paint adhesion.
2. Mix and colour-match paint to manufacturer specifications or customer requirements using digital or manual methods.
3. Apply primers, basecoats, and topcoats using spray-painting equipment in accordance with job specifications.
4. Inspect painted surfaces for defects and perform touch-ups, blending, and polishing as required.
5. Operate and maintain spray booths, drying ovens, and paint-mixing tools in a safe and efficient manner.
6. Maintain a clean and organised work environment, including regular maintenance of tools and spray equipment.
7. Follow WHS protocols, handle hazardous materials safely, and wear appropriate protective equipment.
8. Collaborate with supervisors and team members to ensure timely completion of work to quality standards.
9. Accurately interpret job cards, technical instructions, and colour codes to perform assigned tasks.

Qualifications

1. Relevant experience in a similar role as Vehicle Painter
2. Knowledge of painting techniques and materials
3. Excellent attention to detail
4. Ability to work independently and as part of a team
