We are seeking a qualified Motor Mechanic (General) to join our growing team. This role is essential to support our workshop operations, ensuring all vehicles are maintained and repaired to the highest performance and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical faults in light vehicles using manual and computer-assisted diagnostic equipment.
  • Dismantle, inspect, and repair or replace worn or defective parts in engines, transmissions, steering systems, suspension, braking, and fuel systems.
  • Conduct scheduled maintenance services such as oil and filter changes, lubrication, brake adjustments, and tune-ups according to manufacturer specifications.
  • Adjust, test, and fine-tune repaired mechanical systems to ensure optimal performance and compliance with emission and safety standards.
  • Perform wheel alignment, tyre fitting, balancing, and rotation using workshop equipment.
  • Test and inspect vehicle electrical systems, including batteries and charging systems, to ensure proper operation.
  • Maintain accurate service records and prepare repair quotations where required.
  • Keep the workshop clean, organized, and compliant with safety regulations.
  • Provide guidance and on-the-job training to apprentices and junior mechanics.
  • Work collaboratively with team members to ensure timely completion of repairs and exceptional customer satisfaction.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Certificate III in Automotive Mechanical Technology (or recognized equivalent).
  • Minimum of 1 year of relevant work experience post-qualification
  • Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Commitment to safe work practices and maintaining a clean, efficient work environment.
  • Good communication and customer service skills.
