Blast and Painter

Inspec Industries have extensive experience covering all aspects of the mining and earthmoving industries, Inspec have developed their business with the major focus being on high quality workmanship and customer service. Currently they are recruiting for an experienced Blast and Painter to join their Dysart and Paget (Mackay) service depots in QLD.


The successful candidate will need to undertake and possess:

- Operate abrasive blasting machinery and maintaining the equipment.
- Clean, wash, strip, sand, remove corrosion, fill dents or otherwise prepare fabricated steel items for application of paint and or other protective coatings.
- Operate various equipment, such as blast pots and spray guns
- Knowledge of various painting methods and applications
- Sandblasting, abrasive and chemical techniques, masking and etching of applications.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprint, sketches and drawings
- Safe operation of tools and equipment
- Grinding, sanding and polishing of steel
- Understanding of painting, caulking and sealing and putting them in to practice
- Ability to apply all types of coatings using various application methods


Skills & Abilities:

- Certificate III in Surface preparation / Certificate III in Painting Decorating or relevant
- Ideally have 3 years experience within relevant or similar field
- Ability to work in a team environment 


Salary range is $70,000 - $85,000pa commensurate with experience
