ILLAWARRA CATHOLIC CLUB LTD, (ABN 68 000 361 660)  is looking for a full time Chef or Cook for their busy restaurant in Hotel Mountain Heritage located in Katoomba NSW.

Located in the heart of the stunning Blue Mountains, the Hotel Mountain Heritage is a premier heritage-listed property in Katoomba, NSW, renowned for its breathtaking panoramic views, exceptional service, and rich history. Owned and operated by the Illawarra Catholic Club group, this prestigious hotel combines old-world charm with modern comforts, offering guests a luxurious retreat from city life while celebrating the beauty of the surrounding natural landscape.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

  • Must display excellent prep, cooking and plating skills
  • Strong emphasis on quality and consistency of dishes
  • Demonstrate a keen Interest in growing food trends and techniques
  • Ability to contribute to menu planning, food cost estimation and food cost control
  • Work with the management team on food preparation and seasonal menu planning
  • Stock ordering
  • Team building and maintaining morale
  • Labour cost control and assist the owners with rostering
  • A sound knowledge of food safety, hygiene and WHS and able to explain and enforce
  • Immaculate presentation and grooming
  • Ability to handle large service numbers
  • Experience on pans and pasta section is highly desirable
  • Above average customer care and service skills
  • Training of junior team members on cooking techniques and procedures
  • Assist with staff hiring and training
  • Planning menus, estimating food and labour costs, and ordering food supplies
  • Discuss customer requirements and request with the frost on house team
  • Monitoring quality of dishes at all stages of preparation and presentation
