The Store Manager will oversee daily operations across two busy café locations. This is a hands-on leadership role requiring strong team management, customer focus, and operational control to ensure smooth and profitable retail service.

Manage work schedules:

  • Prepare and manage weekly rosters to ensure appropriate staffing coverage during operating hours (5:30am – 2:00pm)
  • Adjust scheduling to meet changing operational demands and peak service times
  • Ensure task allocation aligns with staff strengths and business priorities

Staff supervision:

  • Supervise a team of 18 staff across both locations, fostering a positive and productive work environment
  • Conduct on-the-job training and coaching to support service consistency and professional development
  • Monitor staff performance and provide feedback to maintain high service standards

Stock management and quality control:

  • Oversee stock control, ordering, and supplier coordination to ensure adequate inventory levels
  • Collaborate with the kitchen team to align stock usage with seasonal menu changes and customer preferences
  • Monitor food presentation, hygiene, and service quality across all outlets

Budget and financial management:

  • Track daily and monthly sales, wages, and cost-of-goods
  • Prepare monthly cash flow and performance reports for the Director
  • Identify opportunities for improving cost-efficiency and profitability

Health and safety compliance:

  • Ensure adherence to food safety, hygiene, and workplace health regulations
  • Maintain clean and safe working environments in line with relevant compliance standards
  • Conduct regular checks and staff briefings on hygiene protocols

Customer service:

  • Resolve customer enquiries and complaints in a timely and professional manner
  • Maintain a strong presence on the floor to support staff and enhance the customer experience
  • Coordinate catering orders and manage client relationships from consultation through to delivery

 

About You:

  • Substantial experience in a hospitality or retail management role
  • Strong people management and leadership skills
  • Proficient in stock control and point-of-sale systems
  • Understanding of budgeting, rostering, and compliance in a food retail environment
  • Excellent communication, customer service, and problem-solving abilities
  • A proactive and hands-on approach to management

Salary: $73,000 – $78,000 + superannuation (negotiable depending on experience)
Employment Type: Full-time, 38 hours per week
Start Date: Immediate
