Diesel Motor Mechanic

Our client, Allquip Pty Ltd t/as Allquip Water Trucks, is a family-owned and Australian-operated company located in Rutherford, NSW. With over two decades of industry experience, the company specialises in the manufacture of water trucks, tankers, and slide-in units. They are currently seeking a qualified Diesel Motor Mechanic to join their expanding team, primarily to support the routine maintenance, and mechanical servicing of heavy vehicles used in their fleet production.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance of diesel engines, transmissions, braking systems, steering, and suspension.
• Perform scheduled servicing and mechanical inspections to ensure vehicles meet roadworthy and safety requirements.
• Install and maintain water truck components, including PTOs, hydraulic pumps, spray bars, tanks, and associated pipework, as part of vehicle setup.
• Troubleshoot and repair basic hydraulic and electrical faults related to vehicle performance.
• Prepare and complete job cards, maintenance reports, and parts usage logs with accuracy and timeliness.
• Respond to breakdowns and perform field service support, ensuring timely fault resolution.
• Participate in preventative maintenance programs to minimise vehicle downtime.
• Maintain a clean, organised, and hazard-free workshop environment following WHS procedures.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Relevant trade qualification.
• At least 3 years' experience in a similar role.
• Motivated and responsible, able to work with minimal supervision.
• Strong teamwork skills: the ability to work well with others is crucial.
