KEMPSEY-MACLEAY R S L CLUB LTD trading as Kempsey Macleay RSL Club is looking for a full time Chefs or cook for their busy venue. Kempsey Macleay RSL is a great regional Club with a great team of people making this club the heart of the community. The Club has around 9000 members and operates across the RSL Club and the Bowling Club. The Club has a team of 80 staff dedicated to making it the club of choice.The Club's renovated function rooms cater for up to 200 guests. The food and Club facilities are excellent with a feature ‘river’ outlook. This venue is easy to promote and can be used for a range of purposes from weddings to conferences, small meetings to larger events and more.

To be considered for the role you need to have a relevant industry qualification and at least 1-2 years’ experience in a similar position.

Skills & Experience

• Must display excellent prep, cooking and plating skills
• Strong emphasis on quality and consistency of dishes
• Demonstrate a keen interest in growing food trends and techniques
• Ability to contribute to menu planning, food cost estimation and food cost control
• Work with the management team on food preparation and seasonal menu planning
• Stock ordering
• Labour cost control and assist the owners with rostering
• A sound knowledge of food safety, hygiene and WHS
• Immaculate presentation and grooming
• Ability to handle large service numbers
• Above average customer care and service skills
• Must be able to train junior team on cooking techniques and procedures
• Assist with staff hiring and training
• Be skilled on grill and fryer section
• Planning menus, estimating food and labour costs, and ordering food supplies
• Discuss customer requirements and request with the front of house team
