Mechanical Engineer

Genis Steel Leading industrial and residential steel manufacturer located in Melbourne is currently seeking to employ a qualified and experienced Mechanical Engineer to join the manufacturing department in Somerton VIC.

Role Responsibilities:

- Producing accurate designs for manufacturing sheet metal parts components Using CAD software including feasibility studies, detailed design, and engineering calculations.
- Providing accurate product specifications in the workshop for completion of projects.
- Determining customer restrictions, existing equipment, timelines and budgets. Liaise with management to determine if customer requirements can be met and determine the way forward.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver projects on time while ensuring adherence to industry standards, safety regulations, and documentation requirements.
- Understanding manufacturing processes including welding / machining processes, assembly methods etc.
- Support product development, monitor system performance, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

Skills and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or related fields
- Minimum of 2-years’ experience in the relevant field
- Competent and have advanced knowledge in AutoCAD
- Have strong communication skills
- Have a proven mechanical aptitude
- Have accurate design skills with high attention to detail

Salary range is $70,000-$85,000pa commensurate with experience
