Blaster Painter

Barker Trailers are currently looking to recruit an experienced and qualified Blaster Painter to join their team in Woodend North VIC.

About the position:

Spray Painters within our company will be required to complete the following tasks, including but not limited to.

- Clean, wash, strip, sand, remove corrosion, fill dents or otherwise prepare fabricated steel items for application of paint and or other protective coatings.
- Operate various equipment, such as blast pots and spray guns
- Knowledge of various painting methods and applications
- Sandblasting, abrasive and chemical techniques, masking and etching of applications.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprint, sketches and drawings
- Safe operation of tools and equipment
- Grinding, sanding and polishing of steel
- Understanding of painting, caulking and sealing and putting them into practice
- Ability to apply all types of coatings using various application methods

Qualifications, Skills & Abilities required:

- Relevant trade qualification (Certificate III)
- Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience
- Ability to use a variety of hand tools and equipment such as air compressors, spray machines and ability to work with breathing apparatus and safety equipment.
- Ability to participate in all required safety training.
- Ability to use forklift and cranes will be necessary. All relevant training will be provided immediately upon arrival and further update training will be schedules at required intervals.

Salary range is $70,000 - $85,000pa commensurate with experience
