Position: Computer Network and Systems Engineer – Full-Time

Salary: $77,000 – $87,000 + Superannuation

About the Role

The Computer Network and Systems Engineer will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining network and system solutions that meet the operational and security needs of our clients. You will provide expert technical support, troubleshoot issues, and contribute to projects involving servers, networks, and cloud-based technologies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, configure, and maintain computer networks and system environments to support business requirements.
  • Monitor and test network performance, identifying and resolving issues proactively.
  • Install, configure, and manage servers, routers, switches, firewalls, and associated hardware/software.
  • Provide technical support and advice to end-users, diagnosing and resolving network and system issues.
  • Implement and maintain security systems including firewalls, VPNs, and access controls.
  • Undertake system backups, disaster recovery planning, and data protection measures.
  • Analyse and document system requirements, workflows, and technical specifications.
  • Research and recommend upgrades or improvements to ensure system efficiency and reliability.
  • Liaise with vendors, contractors, and clients to deliver ICT solutions within deadlines.
  • Ensure compliance with ICT standards, policies, and cybersecurity protocols.

Skills & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Systems, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • At least 3 years’ experience in network and systems engineering roles.
  • Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, routing, switching, and firewalls.
  • Experience with virtualisation platforms, cloud solutions (e.g., Azure, AWS), and server administration.
  • Familiarity with ICT security standards and backup/restore practices.
  • Excellent troubleshooting, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and within a collaborative team environment.
  • Industry certifications (e.g., CCNA, CCNP, MCSA) highly regarded.
