- Coordinate the health and safety systems within the project, including identifying hazards, assessing risk
- Recommend appropriate safety controls to the construction team, and provide advice on incident prevention and occupational health to management and employees.
- Ensure the effective implementation of Safety Management Systems
- Identify, review and analyse high-risk activities in conjunction with the appropriate personnel and recommend an approach to be taken
- Actively ensure that subcontractors and suppliers are complying with legislative, client and the alliances work health and safety and environmental requirements
- Be actively involved in the investigation and debrief of all Lost Time Injuries and critical incidents that occur on the project
- Assist with the timely response to client-raised issues, taking the opportunity to build positive relationships with said client
- Have a consistent presence at pre-start meetings
- Certificate IV in Occupational Health and Safety, or similar
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in a similar role post qualification
- Demonstrated experience in a Civil/Rail Infrastructure project environment
- Previous experience in incident investigation, ICAM experience highly desirable but not essential
- A comprehensive knowledge of Victorian OHS legislation and processes, including competence in the implementation of OHS change initiatives
