Specifically, in the following:
  • To ensure compliance with legislative and statutory requirements to enable us to continue to deliver a high standard of care and most importantly, a quality lifestyle for our residents.
  • Ensure the needs of each resident are being met and the team understand their identity, culture, diversity, beliefs, and life experiences.
  • To work within an established and agreed framework supporting the resident to live their best life.
Responsibilities
  • Support the Home Manager in strategic planning, reviewing policies and procedures, implementing them, and ensuring compliance with all pertinent regulations.
  • Assist residents and families to comprehend care interventions and enable them to make informed choices.
  • Oversee employee performance and identify opportunities for training and development.
  • Maintain processes for complaints management in the home in alignment with organisational policy, ensuring all residents and family concerns are addressed and resolved, or escalated as required.
  • Assist the Home Manager in handling staff issues to promote a safe and cohesive environment for resident care.
Knowledge and skills
  • Understanding of relevant laws, Acts, regulations, standards, and guidelines that affect responsibilities, and incorporating them into all aspects of practice.
  • Experience in delegating, supervising and leading staff.
  • Competence in strategic planning, policy and procedure review, implementation, and monitoring compliance with all relevant requirements.
Qualifications
  • Registered Nurse with current Registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
  • A minimum of 3 years experience in a management role within the aged care sector with a successful and proven track record.
  • Current Police Check and/or DIS Worker Screening Check acceptable to the organisation
  • Working knowledge of WH&S and Infection Control
