We rally together, drawing on the diverse skills across our teams and create environments where great ideas are heard.About your roleUGLs Manufacturing & Maintenance business are on the search for an experienced Quality & Welding Supervisor to join our team, based at our facility in Ballarat.Reporting to the Site Manager, the role of Quality & Welding Supervisor will be to ensure the site’s welding processes are compliant with the applicable standard. You will also be required to promote and maintain the current quality management systems in accordance with certification (ISO9001, ISO14001 & ISO45001) statutory & business requirements.Specifically, you will be responsible for:
  • Ensure compliance to system processes by the undertaking and facilitation of internal and external audits, process sampling & inspections
  • Identify and record non-conformances, investigations and root cause analysis
  • Implement corrective and preventive actions
  • Support with the identification and facilitation of continuous improvement initiatives
About youYou will have experience in a similar Leadership & Quality role, gained in the rail, automotive, military, defence, avionics or any other safety critical environment.Other key skills & experience required include:
  • Welding Supervisory qualification (or higher) and relevant Trade or Tertiary qualifications
  • Lead Auditor certification is preferred
  • Strong communication skills (oral & written) including strong negotiation and influencing skills and the ability to establish effective working relationships with a variety of people at different levels both internally and externally
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently to organise and prioritise demands, handle multiple complex tasks simultaneously, set and meet deadlines and follow-through within a fast-paced environment with multiple and competing demands.
  • Proficient skills in computers: MS Word, Excel, email.
