ABOUT THE COMPANY.Join a Council located in Sydney, and be a part of a positive and collaborative team environment. Local Government offers flexible start and finish times, Work From Home days and 35 hours per week. Impact Council's infrastructural projects by developing professional relationships with Engineers, Planners, Developers, Project Managers and the Community.ABOUT THE POSITION.As a Design Engineer you will play an integral role in the design and delivery of Council's major projects by achieving satisfactory outcomes for clients, by meeting time, cost and quality expectations. This includes design document preparation, drafting, checking and verification. You will also ensure that all activities are related to civil engineering are preformed in accordance with approved consent conditions, specifications and safety standards.DUTIES.

Prepare Concept and Detailed design for road, drainage, car parking and traffic management projects to Australian standards
Provide technical guidance & advice to team members, in respect to engineering design considerations in projects
Review designs prepared by others in the team supporting the Team Lead
Ensure effective delivery of Councils infrastructure renewal programs, as well as development frontage designs and town centre upgrades

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE.

Degree in Engineering (Civil) or relevant qualifications
Minimum 5 years experience as a Civil Design Engineer
High level of attention to detail with technical analysis and design works
Proficient in Civil3D and DRAINS softwares
