This is your chance to be part of something groundbreaking!ACCIONA are now looking for a Substation Design Engineer (Primary) to join the Design team. Reporting to the Design Director at our main office in Sydney CBD, you will play a pivotal role in leading the design and implementation of primary components for high-voltage systems and optimising substation layouts for efficiency.With a focus on collaboration and effective communication, the Substation Design Engineer will contribute innovative solutions to overcome challenges, driving continuous improvement within the substation design process.Specific Tasks Include

Lead the design and implementation of primary components for high-voltage systems, ensuring optimal efficiency and reliability.
Optimise high-voltage substation layouts, strategically placing components for enhanced efficiency and compliance with standards.
Ensure designs align with international standards and regulations, adhering to industry best practices and safety requirements.
Utilise specialised design software and tools tailored for high-voltage applications, employing advanced CAD and simulation tools for precise and accurate design modelling.
Contribute innovative solutions to overcome unique challenges associated with high-voltage systems, leveraging a deep understanding of design principles.
Convey technical requirements specific to high-voltage components to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Collaborate closely with stakeholders to ensure seamless integration within the substation project.

Required Skills and Competencies

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
Strong background in electrical engineering with a specialised focus on high-voltage systems, particularly those operating at 330kV and above.
Proven experience in high-voltage electrical primary systems (as transformers, circuit breakers, and other switchgear components, is essential).
Strong project management skills in high-voltage environments.
In-depth knowledge of high-voltage regulations and safety codes.
Excellent communication and negotiation skills, especially in technical contexts.
