About the roleAs the Engineering Team Lead, you will be accountable for the performance and outcomes of the Acquisitions Engineering Team.You'll provide both technical leadership and operational management, ensuring that engineering contributions to Ground Support Equipment (GSE) acquisitions under Survey and Quote engagements are delivered to the highest standard.You will play a central role in shaping and overseeing engineering deliverables, including authoring, reviewing, and approving technical documentation.Beyond project delivery, you'll manage day-to-day resourcing, support knowledge capture through accurate documentation, and build strong relationships with stakeholders across Babcock, Defence, and suppliers.About youYou are a proven technical leader with experience guiding engineering teams through complex project lifecycles, ideally within a Defence, aerospace, or highly regulated environment.With a solid background in systems, mechanical, or related engineering disciplines, you have the capability to make sound technical decisions while ensuring compliance with engineering governance and contractual obligations.Your ability to manage scope, budgets, and schedules ensures outcomes are consistently delivered to time, cost, and quality expectations.You bring excellent communication skills, enabling you to build constructive relationships with stakeholders and present technical information with clarity and influence.To be successful in this position you will bring:
  • Hold an accredited (under the Washington Accord) bachelor's degree in engineering
  • Experience using applicable engineering toolsets
  • Systems engineering experience
  • Extensive experience in relatable technical/engineering roles
  • Must either hold, or be eligible to obtain and maintain an Australian Defence Security Clearance
