As the Assistant Director Goods and Services Procurement you will undertake a high-level leadership role, managing and overseeing the Departments extensive Goods and Services Procurement activities. You will provide specialist advice and oversee the development of complex, high cost, high-risk commercial transactions and contracts, involving relationship management and risk mitigation. You will also lead the development and implementation of innovative procurement strategies to achieve agency objectives and strategic vision and provide high level strategic advice and direction to support the planned and strategic procurement of goods and services for the Department. Your responsibilities will include:
- Provide accountable management and leadership to the Division in shaping and managing the operations of the Directorate, including workloads to ensure the Department’s outcomes and objectives are achieved.
- Provide proactive business advice beyond compliance requirements, including the identification of suitable suppliers, suitable commercial models and how to achieve innovation through the supply chain.
- Shape and manage the strategic procurement of goods and services for the Department aligned to Strategic Procurement Policy and funding methodologies.
- Provide strategic input into the development, implementation and management of Procurement Policy, Frameworks and Practices to maximise outcomes.
- Lead the development and operation of strategic procurement partnerships and maintain strong collaborative links and partnerships with Government and non-Government Agencies and organisations.
