RESPONSIBLE TO: Manager Perinatal, Infant & Child Mental Health Service (PICMHS) Through to Director Clinical ServicesResponsibilities:The Clinical Nurse Consultant Grade 1/2(CNC1/2) Perinatal Infant and Child Mental Health (PICMH) clinician will provide clinical expertise and promote the development of Perinatal, Infant and Child Mental Health practice through the CNC list of domains and functions (NSW Health, 2017: IB2017_002)Karitane services are grounded in a strengths-based partnership model and are provided in multiple settings across multiple services. There is a requirement for this position to also support regional and rural services as required.The PICMH CNC1/2 will be responsible for clinical support and capability development of staff and students throughout the organisation, participate in the delivery of high-quality services, provide clinical leadership in practice, participate in education and research initiatives and demonstrate leadership in the workplace.ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS FOR THIS ROLE;-
- Current authority to practice as a Registered Nurse with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
- Current NSW Drivers' Licence.
- Current nursing registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (AHPRA) and 5 years full time equivalent post registration experience
- Holds approved postgraduate qualifications in perinatal & infant mental health or other qualifications or experience deemed appropriate.
- Demonstrated advanced communication and interpersonal skills across a variety of mediums and proven application of the practice development framework to clinical practice.
- Extensive knowledge of good clinical practice, policies and procedure in perinatal & infant mental health
- Proven ability to consult, review, and develop, both new and existing policies and procedures within the relevant specialty.
- Computer skills include word processing, power point presentation, excel spread sheet applications and clinical information systems.
- Demonstrates ability to work autonomously and in a multidisciplinary team environment.
- High level formulation, documentation and report-writing skills.
Temporary full-time employment status in accordance with the Named NSW (Non-Declared) Affiliated Health Organisations' Nurse Agreement 2017. Karitane services are provided across a number of sites within NSW.
Karitane services close for approximately two weeks over the Christmas/New Year period, during which time employees are required to take leave.Karitane supports a smoke free environment including grounds, buildings and vehicles.
