About the roleThe Mater Private Administration Team has an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic Senior Administration Officer to join the Inpatients Administration Team working as a Ward Clerk in the Mater Private Hospital.This role is maximum term 6-month contract, full time (Monday - Friday, 8-hour shifts). This is a newly created position.Salary range: $39.79 per hour plus 12% superannuation and +What you'll be doingThe purpose of this position is to provide exceptional administration support to the clinical area. The key accountabilities for the role include but are not limited to:
  • Manage, organise and provide confidential administrative support to the department ensuring areas are efficiently managed, representing Mater with strong customer focus to staff, patients and visitors
  • Ability to respond competently in emergency situations, remaining calm and composed and to 'think on your feet'
  • Performing administrative functions as required, in accordance with departmental policies and procedures working closely with the Nursing Unit Manager and Clinical Team
  • Ensure effective, accurate and timely communications with staff and clients, communicating with sensitivity and discretion
  • Provide accurate data entry using various network-based information systems to effectively manage patient admissions, discharges and transfers in a timely and accurate manner
  • Carry out other administration functions as directed by your Team Leader/Manager
  • Exercise judgement where necessary to solve immediate problems in situations where precedents have not been set and procedures not defined
About youTo make this role your own, you will have:
  • High level of customer service, verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to provide efficient and effective administration support in a timely and organised manner
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with all levels of staff, patients and visitors
  • Accurate data entry skills with a proficiency in Microsoft Office/Outlook
  • Ability to organise and prioritise work effectively within a busy, demanding and fast paced environment
