This position is temporarily vacant whilst the substantive occupant is engaged in other duties.POSITION OBJECTIVEThis position provides a professional level of executive, administrative and research/project support to the Deputy Commissioners and Executive Director.SPECIALIST PRE-REQUISITEIt is a requirement that the position holder is successful in obtaining and maintaining a NEGATIVE VETTING LEVEL 1 security clearance for the duration of their appointment in the position. Only Australian Citizens are eligible to hold and maintain the NEGATIVE VETTING LEVEL 1 security clearance. Ability in the provision of high level executive support - Providing high level secretarial and administrative support in a demanding and dynamic office environment. Dealing with organisationally sensitive matters and matters of a highly confidential nature. Managing and organising senior executive calendars. Collecting and disseminating information in the strictest confidence. Applying good governance practices and utilising computer systems including word, excel and databases effectively.
Communication skills - Interacting effectively and professionally with a diverse range of internal and external customers on behalf of senior executive management. Preparing highly sensitive correspondence including reports, minutes and briefing notes. Using discretion in relaying information.
Planning and organisational ability - Showing initiative. Scheduling, organising and planning tasks in order to complete set assignments, often within strict timeframes in a high-volume team-based work environment. Adhering to deadlines, working under pressure, setting and meeting priorities.
