Location: Northern Suburbs | Afternoon Shift | $71/hourA leading food manufacturing company located in Melbourne's Northern Suburbs is currently seeking a skilled and experienced Maintenance Fitter to join their team. This is an excellent afternoon shift opportunity offering $71 per hour, with the potential to transition from temp to permanent.The RoleThis hands-on position involves a variety of tasks including general and preventative maintenance, fault finding, and troubleshooting across a range of production equipment.Key ResponsibilitiesSupport the efficient daily operation of plant machineryPerform both preventative and reactive maintenanceTroubleshoot and diagnose mechanical faultsContribute to process and equipment improvementsWork with pipework, valves, and process pumpsMaintain screw and belt conveyors, boilers, and steam systemsService pneumatic and hydraulic equipmentOperate and maintain production machineryProvide technical assistance to the production teamEnsure compliance with Quality, OHS, GMP, and HACCP standardsAbout YouTrade qualified, with at least 4 years' experience in a similar maintenance role within food or FMCG manufacturingStrong fault-finding and diagnostic skillsExperience with CMMS systemsPractical, reliable, and hands-on with a can-do attitudeStrong communication skills and the ability to work independently or in a teamForklift licence (advantageous)Welding experience (desirable)
