- Located at Canning Vale, WA
- MUST be a trade qualified Metal Machinist with a minimum of 3 years’ experience.
- In-depth knowledge of metal and other material properties.
- Attention to detail with an ability to accurately interpret technical drawings and instructions.
- Proven analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Previous experience diagnosing faults and performing effective operational equipment / machine maintenance.
- Hands on experience with manual, semi-automated and automated tools, and machines / equipment.
- Ability to work shift work.
- Interpret technical drawings and instructions to understand specifications of task.
- Plan the sequence of necessary actions to complete task.
- Accurately identify tools / equipment required, measure and mark materials required for job.
- Check fabricated and assembled metal components for accuracy, clearance and fit using precision measuring instruments.
- Set up prescribed cutting and shaping tools and accurately set controls.
- Form metal stock and castings to fine tolerances using machining tools to press, cut, grind, plane, bore and drill metal
- Check output to ensure consistency with specifications and discard defects
- Diagnose faults and perform operational maintenance on equipment to ensure it works correctly
- Independently operate to perform basic maintenance on equipment
- Ensure that company objectives such as process optimisation, manufacturing cost, delivery performance and recovery are maintained to within organisational goals.
- Support the application of process improvement techniques to improve processes and productivity. Liaise with internal departments to ensure objectives are met.
- Take full accountability for personal safety and well-being, develop an understanding of risk minimisation, and be committed to achieving the highest possible standards for Safety, Health, and the Environment (SH&E).
