We are seeking applications for casual Residential Services Assistants to work in our Care Community and Sub Acute sites. You will be required to individually prepare meals accordingly to resident’s individual dietary requirements in our Care Communities and deliver meals.Grampians Health Ballarat has nine Care Communities (Jack Lonsdale Lodge, James Thomas Court, Eureka Village Hostel, Geoffrey Cutter Centre, WB Messer, PS Hobson, Hailey House, Talbot Place and Bill Crawford Lodge) and two Sub Acute sites (Inpatient Rehab and Jim Gay Unit.Work autonomously in the kitchen & as part of your employment you will receive a week of training (paid) across our care communities to ensure you are supported & feel confident to thrive in your role.You will receive a week of paid training across several Care Communities if you are successful.Casual bank is managed by the Central Allocations Unit which operates 7 days a week. Grampians Health uses an electronic rostering system which matches staff for shifts based on their availabilities via text / phone call.Casual bank shifts can be offered within short time frames therefore, to be considered for this role you must be living in the Ballarat region.You will be required to provide 2 referees, one being your current direct manager and the second another manager / supervisor.Key Responsibilities
- Maintaining accurate availability in our electronic rostering system and accepting shifts based on availability
- Setting up the kitchen and dining rooms for food service where you have been allocated
- Preparing and serving resident meals based on their individual dietary requirements
- Ensuring safe food handling practices and records maintenance
- Maintaining the dining area to create a safe and welcoming environment for residents
- Cleaning and laundry duties (facility dependent)
- Demonstrated ability to function within a team
- Participate in annual performance reviews
- Commitment to ongoing mandatory education
- Current HLTFSE001 - Follow Basic Food Handling Practices certificate, or willingness to obtain
- Demonstrated high level communication and interpersonal skills to interact with a wide variety of individuals
- The ability to prioritise work
- The ability to work with limited supervision
- Demonstrated person-centred care and respectful approach to patients, visitors and staff
- Current NDIS Worker Screening Check, or willingness to obtain
- Previous experience in a similar role would be preferred, but is not essential
