BPC Proactive Investigators provide an important service to the Victorian community, supporting intelligence-led investigations in response to complex data and information gathered from a range of sources, with a clear focus on procedural fairness and sound decision-making.Reporting to the Team Leader, Investigations, this role will work closely to draw on the subject matter expertise of Lead Proactive Investigators to capably carry out a range of activity, including:
Gathering and analysing case data and information.
Preparing statements, reports and briefs of evidence in line with C&E requirements.
Conducting interviews and providing advice and information to the building industry, within a clear remit of responsibility.
Engaging in a range of divisional initiatives and working collaboratively as part of a united team.
What we are looking for:
Proven experience in a compliance or regulatory environment undertaking investigations, gathering information and evidence, preparing reports and/or briefs of evidence with the ability to undertake analysis and reporting of data.
Holds a Certificate IV in Government Investigations, or equivalent, is required.
Developed written and oral communication skills, along with strong interpersonal skills, to be able to conduct investigations, pursue lines of inquiry, assess evidence and prepare reports.
Demonstrated ability to be decisive and flexible while maintaining impartiality, objectivity and professionalism and act ethically and with integrity and fairness.
Capable of working in a team environment and take instruction from Lead Investigators, team leaders and managers.
About the BPCThe Building & Plumbing Commission (BPC) is Victoria's new regulator for building and plumbing. It brings together the Victorian Building Authority (VBA), Domestic Building Dispute Resolution Victoria (DBDRV), and the domestic building insurance function of the Victorian Managed Insurance Authority (VMIA) into one organisation.Key functions related to building and plumbing regulation will come together under one roof, including registration, inspection and compliance, practitioner discipline, dispute resolution, and domestic building insurance.
