An opportunity exists for an experienced Mine Survey Superintendent to join our Coppabella Moorvale Joint Venture (CMJV). Our Coppabella Moorvale mine complex consists of three open-cut mine operations located approximately 140 kilometres southwest of Mackay producing coking and low to mid-volatile PCI coal for export markets.The Mine Survey Superintendent reports to the Technical Services Manager where your primary role is to Comply with Queensland Coal Mine Safety and Health Act and Regulation, manage all survey functions at CMJV. Additionally, the Survey Superintendent will provide leadership on the site operational readiness plan for mine survey systems and building the Mine Survey Team. This will include leadership to the Surveying Team in marking out, measuring, monitoring and defining the direction of all surface workings within the mining operations and for the preparation and updating of mine plans.The Role
- Manage the survey resources at CMJV, within approved budget
- Liaise with all relevant stakeholders to deliver site survey requirements on a daily basis.
- Regular surveys to control all mining activities including coal surfaces, pit, dump, stockpiles, , roadways and haulage roads
- Provision of accurate survey control network
- Compile and update mine plans as necessary
- Develop, review and maintain survey process documentation
- manage, train and develop survey teamProvide regular and timely reports to the Site/Mine Manager on the progress of work undertaken.
- Provide accurate end of month figures to Engineers and Geologists.
- Compile accurate monthly records for all surface excavations and ore stockpiles for end of month reports and reconciliations
- Ensure compliance with recognised standard 10
- Maintain accurate site plans of surface infrastructure.
- Other duties as required by the Mine Manager
- Undertake audits and communicate results
- Timely submission of mine working plans
- Registered with the Surveyors Board of Queensland as a
- Registered Surveyor with Mining (O) endorsement
- Registered Surveyor with more than 5 years open cut coal mining experience and will commit to obtaining Mining (O) endorsement within 18 months
- Has completed a bachelor of surveying degree or is eligible obtain survey registration with the Surveyors Board of Queensland with more than 5 years open cut coal mining experience and will commit to obtaining Mining (O) endorsement within 3 years
- Drone pilots license and CASA and willingness to become Chief Drone Pilot
- Demonstrated experience using Vulcan and previous leadership experience is perfered
This position is offered on a 9-day fortnight (Mon-Fri/ Mon-Thurs) roster with one rostered day off every other week. FIFO from any major East coast cities or DIDO options available to allow for a residential lifestyle.
