This program provides free nonclinical, community-based supports aimed at facilitating and maintaining recovery for people experiencing severe and persistent mental illness. As a Community Support Worker, you will offer one-on-one and group support (in some areas) to assist recovery, build skills for independent living, and help participants contribute to their communities.This position is a Maximum Term (2 yrs) Full Time role located in Armidale. You will be required to travel across the region. There will be access to a work pool car, laptop and mobile phone for work purposes.Key responsibilities (but not limited to):Supporting people with a mental health issue to access the communityProvide case co-ordination for individualsEstablish positive relationships with the clients, staff and other organisationsPromote Anglicare’s services in a positive mannerAssess client safety, planning, and intervening where appropriate, by ensuring the well-being of the clientReporting – ensure that reports are prompt and an accurate record of observations, risks, interactions and dynamicsAbout you:Tertiary education, Cert 3 or above in social work, psychology/community services/mental health.NSW Drivers licenceKnowledge of mental health issues and the impacts it has on a person’s lifeSkills in establishing rapport, respectfully communicating expectations and being assertiveExperience relating to and building rapport with peopleKnowledge of child protection system and knowledge of NDIS is an advantageExcellent observation, written and verbal communication skillsWorking with Children’s CheckFirst Aid Certificate desirableAboriginal and Torres Strait Islander candidates are encouraged to applyAnglicare - Jesus Christ honoured, lives enriched, and communities strengthenedAnglicare is committed to ensuring the safety and wellbeing of children and young people and has zero tolerance of child abuseApplicants are encouraged to apply as soon as possible as applications may be reviewed prior to the closing date; Closing date is subject to change without notice.Application Close Date: September 06, 2025
