In this role, you will be providing financial information and reports concerning the performance of the Directorate as a financially sustainable organisational unit.Work type: Temporary Full-Time (12 months)
Classification: Band 8 ($115,035 - $127,911 pa plus super)Key responsibilities include:
- Partnering with Directors, Managers and their teams to provide financial planning and analysis
- Financial planning, budgeting and forecasting for the directorate and organisation
- Providing financial advice and decision analysis support for structure and service reviews, process improvements, cost management initiatives and business cases
- Monitoring key internal and external drivers of performance and analysing the financial impact of emerging priorities, key risks and opportunities
- Championing the use of organisational data to support decision making
- Providing financial training including induction of finance systems, awareness and understanding of management accounting principles and processes
- Implementing auditable accounting practices and reporting structures to the benefit of key decision makers within the City
To be successful in this role, you will have a passion to work for the City and give back to the community.Essential Experience:
- A tertiary qualification in Commerce or Accounting or related field and/or commensurate demonstrate experience in lieu of formal qualifications.
- CA or CPA professional qualification (or equivalent)
- Preparing and monitoring of annual budgets
- Preparation of business plans for large and complex operating units
- Demonstrated experience liaising with and influencing senior internal and external stakeholders.
