- Actively engage with consultants, suppliers, and subcontractors to align commissioning requirements with project deliverables, ensuring timely and efficient execution.
- Perform on-site coordination of the subcontractors'/consultants' commissioning activities across various domains such as HV substations, SCADA systems, and Power Conditioner Units.
- Directly oversee commissioning stages including quality assurance, cold and hot commissioning, and grid testing.
- Connection of projects to the National Electricity Market (NEM) through the AEMO connections process.
- Develop commissioning strategies that prioritize safety, asset integrity, and production efficiency.
- Utilize a strong understanding of protection schemes with the technical ability to assess protection studies and methodologies.
- Coordinate between the various stages of system commissioning making sure each stage is managed correctly and completed successfully to a high degree of quality.
- Leverage team management skills to allocate appropriate resources and expertise, ensuring each commissioning stage is executed with precision and quality.
- Maintain comprehensive records of commissioning processes, test results, and system performance; prepare detailed reports for stakeholders.
- Oversee and enforce strict LOTO (Lockout-Tagout) and isolation procedures during commissioning to uphold the highest safety standards.
- Ensure project administration and documentation comply with industry standards.
- Align commissioning schedules with overall project timelines and objectives.
- Review RFPs (requests for proposals) and contract documents to understand and meet commissioning requirements.
- Monitor system performance post-commissioning and suggest enhancements.
- Maintain effective communication with all stakeholders to address and resolve issues.
- Build and sustain customer-focused relationships.
- Bachelor’s Degree/Advanced Diploma in Engineering or Electrical Trade Qualifications with advanced technical training/experience.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in renewable energy project commissioning.
- Proven organizational and time management skills, with a keen eye for detail.
- Knowledge of HSE (Health, Safety, and Environment) protocols in the renewable energy sector.
- Familiarity with common project management software such as MS Suite, MS Project and/or P6, as well as commissioning software such as PVSyst, PowerFactory, ETAP and/or PSCAD is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with various Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) systems.
- Ability to interpret 2D and 3D construction drawings and specifications.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively in a team and manage cross-functional relationships.
