Key areas:Diagnose and repair mechanical and basic electrical faults in engines and vehicle systemsDismantle and inspect engine assemblies, transmissions, steering mechanisms and other components to identify issuesRepair or replace defective parts and reassemble components using service manuals and OEM specificationsPerform routine maintenance such as oil and filter changes, lubrication, coolant checks and basic tune-ups to enhance performance and meet emissions standardsReassemble engines and components after repairs, ensuring correct torque settings and completion of quality checksTest and adjust mechanical systems post-repair to verify correct operation and reliability, documenting findingsUtilise diagnostic tools and computer systems to troubleshoot and test vehicle components effectivelyConduct vehicle inspections and prepare detailed reports on required repairs; if accredited, issue roadworthy certificatesAttend breakdowns to provide on-site mechanical support as requiredAre you the one?
We're looking for passionate and motivated qualified Diesel Mechanics early in their careers. If you take pride in your work and believe in delivering to high standards, this role is for you. You can demonstrate:Completed trade qualification in Heavy Vehicle/Heavy Commercial Vehicle Mechanical Technology (e.g., Certificate III or equivalent) - essentialPost-trade experience working on heavy vehicles (newly qualified candidates encouraged to apply)Ability to read and interpret maintenance manuals and technical instructionsHR/HC licence is desirable but not essential; a current driving licence is requiredAbility to work to schedules with strong time management and attention to detailStrong customer service and communication skillsProactive approach, positive attitude and commitment to safetyBasic computer literacy and familiarity with diagnostic equipmentAt Linfox, we are passionate about creating an inclusive workplace where people can perform at their best.
