In partnership will Wellways, you'll provide high-quality, evidence-based in-person counselling to carers through both individual and group modalities. You'll support carer wellbeing, reduce carer stress, anxiety, and low mood, and enhance resilience.What you’ll do:
- Deliver collaborative, flexible, and person-centred counselling plans based on assessment findings, risk evaluation, and career goals
- Conduct comprehensive wellbeing screening
- Use evidence-based therapies including but not limited to Person-Centred (Rogerian) Therapy and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) as the foundational approaches; incorporate additional modalities (e.g., strengths-based approaches, mindfulness-based therapy, motivational interviewing, solution-focused therapy) as appropriate
- Deliver group programs addressing general wellbeing, skills training, or specific needs
- Maintain clinical case notes, client, and administrative records
- Contract to 30/6/25
- 3 days per week
- Based at Katoomba

- Tertiary qualification in psychology, counselling, psychotherapy, or social work
- Registration with APHRA, AASW, PACFA or ACA (Level 3 or 4)
- Lived experience in a caring role is highly regarded
- Minimum 3 years’ post-qualification counselling experience
- Experience delivering group-based interventions with demonstrated group facilitation skills, including risk assessment and crisis management in group contexts
- Understanding of and commitment to inclusive, person-centred, and trauma-informed practice for diverse populations including culturally and linguistically diverse, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander, and LGBTI carers
- Demonstrated competence and training in person-centred (Rogerian) and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy; additional training in group facilitation, strengths-based, mindfulness, motivational interviewing, or solution-focused approaches is highly desirable
