Are you organised, dependable, and capable of staying composed in emotionally sensitive situations?About the OpportunityPeter Elberg Funerals is seeking a practical, well-organised Funeral Assistant to join our experienced and compassionate team. This role requires a hands-on individual who takes pride in their work, respects every detail, and is committed to supporting both colleagues and grieving families with efficiency and care.You’ll assist with all facets of funeral preparation and delivery, ensuring every service is carried out to the highest standards of professionalism and respect. The role is physical and varied, and suited to someone who works calmly and purposefully under pressure.Key responsibilities include:

Setting up at cemeteries and venues (chairs, canopies, equipment, etc.)
Attending and supporting funeral services with attention to timing and presentation
Vehicle care, general cleaning, and facility maintenance
Providing discreet, respectful support to client families and mourners
Supporting Funeral Directors during services and viewings
Anticipating needs and assisting in the smooth coordination of every funeral

About YouYou are a reliable, team-oriented person who is motivated by practical service and genuine care. While empathy is a must, your professionalism, efficiency, and respect for procedures are what ensure each funeral runs smoothly.You’ll bring:

A strong sense of responsibility and ability to self-manage tasks
The foresight to prepare and plan ahead
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
A full, clean Australian Driver’s Licence and safe driving skills
A commitment to upholding dignity and discretion in every interaction
