Senior Health and Safety Officer

- Reviewing, updating and drafting WHS procedures, high-risk documents and compliance frameworks
- Supporting the implementation of WHS initiatives and change management activities in line with contemporary safety standards
- Identifying gaps and recommending new processes and procedures to strengthen overall WHS outcomes
- Partnering with stakeholders in a high-risk, blue-collar environment to ensure practical and fit-for-purpose solutions
- Providing advice and support to managers and teams on WHS compliance, legislation and procedures
- Contributing to cultural change and continuous improvement within the broader safety function
- A Diploma (or higher) in WHS or equivalent experience in workplace health and safety
- Demonstrated experience developing, reviewing and implementing WHS systems and procedures
- Strong knowledge of WHS legislation, compliance, and high-risk work environments
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and the ability to manage multiple projects and documents at once
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think outside the box and drive practical solutions
- Previous experience in the public sector is desirable but not essential
- Competitive hourly rate (casual basis)
- Flexible 9-day fortnight
- Hybrid working arrangement (2 days WFH once established, initial weeks in office)
