- Controlling and managing the mines electrical engineering activities and projects, which include the statutory obligations of the Electrical Engineering Manager in accordance with the requirements of the Work Health and Safety (Mines and Petroleum Sites) Act 2013, the Coal Mine Safety and Health and Safety (Mines and Petroleum Sites) Regulation 2014 and the site's Safety and Health Management System
- Establishing and maintaining electrical maintenance practices in accordance with company procedures and statutory requirements
- Development, periodic reviews and day to day implementation of the Electrical Engineering Management Plan (EEMP)
- Controlling and managing the design and execution of electrical work and installations
- Oversee and provide guidance in the execution of the weekly work and shutdown schedules to minimise any unscheduled work
- Drive electrical performance in order to improve equipment reliability and minimise downtime
- Providing technical advice and support to key stakeholders
- Build and maintain strong working relationships across the mine site to ensure work plans are aligned to business goals and are delivered as per schedule, on time and within budget
- Utilise the technical skills and knowledge of various personnel on site, within the broader Peabody organization or via external sources to carry out the responsibilities associated with this position.
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in a similar role in a coal mine environment
- Hold a current EEM certification, electrical trade qualifications, high voltage switching, EEHA Hazardous areas and mining supervisory competencies
- A post-trade engineering qualification will be highly regarded.
- Demonstrated commitment to safety and ability to foster and maintain a positive safety culture
- Experience with computerised maintenance management systems; SAP along with Microsoft Project highly desirable
- A Sound knowledge of Master Data (Creating/Updating Task List, Maintenance Plans) experience is highly desirable
