Who are we?Under the direction of the Head Chef, the role is tasked to ensure exceptional food quality and consistency across all levels of the operation. This is a hands-on role requiring presence and influence throughout the kitchens. The role also demands the skills necessary to assist in co-coordinating all the day-to-day activities required to setup and operate a successful kitchen.Scope of the role:
  • Effective and efficient running of the kitchen in line with company standards
  • Assist in the creation and implementation of interesting and popular menu ideas.
  • Assist in creating and maintaining policies and procedures..
  • Responsible, with the Head Chef, of consistent delivery of high-quality meals
  • Assist in the management of food cost & food wastage
  • Assist in conducting monthly food stocktakes accurately.
  • Ensure food safety and OH&S compliance is followed at all times
  • Ensure kitchen equipment is maintained in good working order and is cleaned regularly & according to manufacturer's standards
Skills & experience:
  • Tertiary qualifications in Commercial Cookery or equivalent and/or significant experience in a similar role with a commitment to ongoing professional development.
Benefits:
  • 4-day working week. Rostered 38hrs and occasional O/T of up to 3-4hrs per week (no 45hr+ hour weeks in this role).
