This incorporates working as part of a team or independently with the installation, preventative maintenance program, and repair of plant and equipment - all whilst using effective communication when liaising with internal and external stakeholders.Duties and Responsibilities
  • Maintenance of plant equipment using the following techniques:
  • Metal arc welding
  • Gas metal arc welding
  • Fitting and turning
  • Promptly diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair equipment when advised of a breakdown.
  • Proactively monitor equipment and carry out plant inspections looking for signs of potential problems.
  • Request the Engineering Manager orders materials and spare parts as required.
  • Complete preventative maintenance checklists as requested.
  • Ensure GMP requirements are complied with when working within factory areas.
  • Understudy to the Engineering Manager.
  • Learn seaming mechanic duties.
  • Assist in other engineering projects as required.
  • Always maintain a safe work environment for yourself and your colleagues.
  • Perform your duties in accordance with the Work Health and Safety Policy and Code of Conduct Policies.
  • Understand and support HACCP, quality, and food safety requirements within the standards and timelines required.
Skills and Abilities
  • Trade Certificate (Cert III in Engineering - Mechanical Trade) or 2+ years' experience within the FMCG industry.
  • Excellent time management and collaboration skills proven to effectively manage preventative maintenance schedules and provide reliable service of equipment.
  • Ability to work as part of a team or independently.
  • Ability to prioritise and work effectively under tight deadlines.
  • Strong decision-making skills.
  • Well-developed diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
  • Flexible and approachable nature when dealing with stakeholders.
  • Sound knowledge of WHS obligations within a production environment.
  • Knowledge of GMP and HACCP principles.
