
Cyber Security Analyst

- Monitor security events, alerts, and logs to detect, investigate, and respond to potential security incidents.
- Analyse data and artifacts to identify indicators of compromise, emerging threats, and suspicious activities.
- Conduct vulnerability assessments, penetration tests, and security audits on systems, applications, and networks.
- Participate in incident response activities including triage, containment, eradication, and recovery.
- Maintain and manage security tools and technologies such as SIEM systems, firewalls, IDS/IPS, and antivirus solutions.
- Document and report security incidents, risks, and remediation actions to stakeholders.
- Support development and enforcement of security policies, procedures, and best practices.
- Provide guidance to IT teams and business units on security measures and risk mitigation strategies.
- Collaborate with external vendors, partners, and security organisations to share threat intelligence.
- Assist in third-party and vendor risk assessments, including review of security documentation and questionnaires.
- Stay up to date with emerging threats, vulnerabilities, and cybersecurity trends.
- Contribute to risk assessments, risk registers, and reporting on risk metrics and trends.
- Bachelor's degree in information security, Computer Science, or related field, with relevant certifications (CC, CEH, CompTIA Security+ preferred).
- Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience in a cybersecurity role, including monitoring, incident response, risk management, compliance and vulnerability assessment.
- Strong understanding of cybersecurity principles, frameworks, and best practices (NIST, ISO27001, ASD E8).
- Proficiency with security tools such as SIEM, IDS/IPS, firewalls, antivirus solutions, and vulnerability scanners.
- Knowledge of common threats and attack vectors, including malware, phishing, ransomware, and APTs.
- Analytical mindset with excellent problem-solving skills to assess and respond to complex security incidents.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, capable of translating technical findings for non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to prioritise, manage multiple tasks, and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Commitment to continuous learning and keeping abreast of the latest cybersecurity developments.
- Understanding of cloud security principles, data classification, and legal/compliance considerations.
