Find out more and .Your OpportunityOur residential aged care facility caters to men and women who are homeless or at risk of homelessness, or who have experienced financial or social disadvantage.We are seeking an experienced and proactive Building Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations, maintenance and compliance of our residential aged care facility. This pivotal role ensures our site is safe, operational, and well-maintained to support the delivery of high-quality care to our residents.Salary can be negotiated based on the skills and experience of the successful candidate.Your key responsibilities will be to:
  • Manage and coordinate all building maintenance, repairs, safety inspections and essential services
  • Oversee contractors and trades to ensure timely, cost-effective and quality service delivery
  • Ensure compliance with WHS legislation, building codes and aged care regulations
  • Maintain preventive maintenance schedules and accurate documentation
  • Respond to urgent repairs, safety hazards and facility-related issues
  • Conduct inspections, tagging and testing of equipment (fire safety, electrical items, nurse call bells, legionella, exit lighting, smoke/fire doors)
  • Maintain chemical registers, SDS documentation and ensure correct chemical storage and handling
  • Oversee bulk store operations including goods receipting, inventory management, stock rotation and storeroom cleanliness and security and maintain adequate supplies
  • Supervise the cleaning team ensuring high standards of cleanliness
  • Provide excellent customer service to residents and staff, maintaining a safe and welcoming environment
  • Liaise with external stakeholders including council, fire safety and regulatory bodies
Requirements for Success
  • Minimum 3 years of experience as a maintenance person in the aged care or community space
  • Electrical tagging certificate desirable
  • Practical knowledge of building services and operations
  • Strong understanding of WHS, SafeWork NSW and compliance requirements
  • Demonstrated experience supervising contractors and cleaning/maintenance staff
  • Highly organised with strong problem-solving skills and a “can do” attitude
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Microsoft office Suites
  • Driver’s Licence with no restrictions
  • Covid Booster and flu vaccine mandatory
  • NDIS clearance
