Responding by helicopter, rapid response road vehicle or turbo prop fixed wing aircraft. The Retrieval Registrar will bring experience in a critical care medical discipline to patients in both the pre-hospital and inter-facility transport and retrieval environments.What We Offer:

Key Responsibilities:Deliver Critical Clinical Care and Patient Transport
- Function as a medical team member alongside paramedics or nurses to stabilise and safely transport critically injured and ill patients across all age groups in pre-hospital and retrieval environments, utilising road, rotary wing, and fixed wing transport throughout South Australia and occasionally interstate or overseas.Participate in Operational Retrieval Services
- Maintain active participation in the operational retrieval shift roster, working 10 or 12-hour shifts across day, evening, and night duties, including on-call periods, while providing high-level clinical advice and logistical coordination under Medical Retrieval Consultant supervision.Maintain Clinical Equipment Readiness and Safety Standards
- Ensure all SAAS MedSTAR clinical equipment remains in optimal working condition through regular checking procedures, maintaining comprehensive knowledge of medical equipment functions and emergency pack contents, troubleshooting issues, and participating in equipment restoration processes.Support Quality Assurance and Continuous Improvement Initiatives
- Actively participate in SAAS MedSTAR's audit and quality assurance processes by conducting ongoing work practice reviews, entering clinical and operational data, participating in daily case review meetings, and contributing to evidence-based policy and procedure development.Ensure Compliance and Professional Documentation Standards
- Complete comprehensive patient care documentation and computerised retrieval records, while adhering to all relevant procedures, policies, regulations, and standards including workplace health and safety, equal employment opportunity, and contemporary human resource management requirements.Promote Service Excellence and Emergency Preparedness
- Foster professionalism, integrity, innovation, and collaboration while maintaining a positive image of SA Ambulance Service's emergency retrieval portfolio, and contribute to South Australia's disaster preparedness through participation in counter-disaster activities, training programmes, and emergency response exercises.Application Information: -
