About the Mental Health ServiceChild and Adolescent Mental Health services in Tasmania provide support to expectant mothers, infants, children, and young people experiencing behavioural, emotional and mental health related issues. Services include assessments, individual and family therapies, group programs, clinics focusing on specific difficulties, acute inpatient care, consultation services, and mental health education.About the roleThis role may be based in either the North West or Southern region of Tasmania and involves the assessment and treatment of young people aged 12 to 24, including those engaged with intensive outreach services such as the Youth Hospital in the Home program. Care is provided in a variety of settings outside of the traditional inpatient model, including clients’ homes and community-based clinics, ensuring services are responsive, accessible, and youth-focused.As the successful applicant, you will be delivering high-quality mental health care to young people with acute needs across a range of community settings. Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, you will provide comprehensive psychiatric assessment, diagnosis, and treatment planning for young people experiencing significant mental health challenges. The position also involves consultation and collaboration with other mental health professionals, general practitioners, and service providers, supporting integrated and coordinated care across sectors. Additionally, you will contribute to the supervision and mentoring of psychiatric registrars and other medical staff, supporting the development of clinical expertise within the service. The role also requires participation in an on-call roster, including after-hours and weekend work (such as ward rounds), and may involve intrastate travel.Relocating to Australia?
