Come and join us and help simplify systems, enhance customer experiences and drive innovation across the Group.What's the role?We're seeking Lead Data Engineers to help drive the UNITE Program - permanent Sydney-based roles. You'll lead the design and delivery of robust data pipelines, own the full lifecycle from discovery through to production, and guide cross-functional teams across onshore and offshore locations. This is a senior, hands-on leadership role with direct impact on Westpac's transformation agenda.What do I need?

Degree in Computer Science or a related field, with a major in Software Engineering (or equivalent).
7+ years' experience in data engineering and analytics.
Strong coding in Python, SQL, Informatica and Unix scripting.
Strong experience with big data processing frameworks such as Spark and Kafka.
Familiarity with Azure Synapse, Azure Data Lake Services, Azure Event Hubs, Azure Cosmos DB, Snowflake, Teradata and enterprise data architecture.
Proven leadership in large-scale transformation environments.
Ability to translate technical complexity into business-friendly insights.
Experience in leading agentic AI adoption, automating delivery tasks, and driving innovation across the data lifecycle.
